Rattlesnake Avoidance Training for Dogs:

Rattlesnake Aversion Training is the best, proactive protection you can give your dog should it encounter a rattlesnake. Dogs don’t instinctively know that rattlesnakes are dangerous—dogs have to be taught.

Our goal is to help keep your dog safe and prevent him from getting bit should he encounter a rattlesnake in the future. Dogs are introduced to the scent, sight, and sound of a rattlesnake, and the training is based on their reactions.

The best way for your dog to learn is for them to encounter exactly what a live snake looks like, smells like, and sounds like. Their scent is 100% unique—only rattlesnakes smell like rattlesnakes. This is why the training uses live snakes. They are hooded, neutralized, tethered to a stake, and kept comfortable during the training. Each snake is only used for a short time to reduce their stress.

Kindred Spirits hosts a clinic with Fred of High On Kennels every year because every year, the dogs he’s trained in the past remember the training far better than dogs who have had training with other trainers.
